Learning Civics, Part II

The students finished their plan for their society, they began to build and they named their society Mucho Fabuloso.  Now it is time to begin the fun stuff.

They started by developing values for their society.

Working in small groups...

...they discussed values for their society.
In the end the students agreed on 11 values:
  • Friendship
  • Cleanliness
  • Fun and Humor
  • Respect
  • Cooperation
  • Autonomy
  • Peace
  • Learning
  • Creativity
  • Leadership
  • Happiness
Next they used the values they agreed on to develop rights and responsibilities for the citizens of Mucho Fabuloso.

Now they are beginning to create the first official documents of Mucho Fabuloso.
This group is working on developing laws for the people of Mucho Fabuloso based on the citizens' rights and responsibilities.
This group is working on creating a mural depicting the values of Mucho Fabuloso, and another group is beginning to write a Bill of Rights for the citizens of Mucho Fabuloso based on the United States Bill of Rights.  Exciting stuff!
